Balcony Update

I'm quite excited to say that we've made some progress with our balcony!
This past weekend we were able to find a couple of bistro chairs at a reasonable price.

To jog your memory, here were a few things I mentioned in this post that we have been keeping in mind while hunting for balcony/patio pieces:

  • Natural textures
  • Lasting material {nothing would be worse than spending money on an item and only getting 1 summer out of it}
  • Adding colour
  • Practical & obviously functional

In attempt to add colour I had hoped to pick up these chairs that were on sale at Target:

However, when we went to snatch these up there was only one left. Understandable. We finally came across these bistro chairs at Costco and they were the winners that came home with us:

I like how they are wicker-like...AKA: rain/weather resistant, all the while having the natural texture look. I also like the shape of them - the rounded backs soften things up a bit. We actually saw replicas of these chairs at HomeSense, but at Costco they were 1/2 the price. Sold.

And as you can see we still have yet to dispose of my plants from last fall.
Next on the list, we're hoping to get rid of those and add some living plants of some kind; and perhaps some colour with a few outdoor cushions. Plus, we have a table on the way that will hopefully arrive this weekend!

Things are starting to shape up!

Have you started getting your outdoor space ready for summer?
