Paint A Pumpkin: Toddler Activity

Ok. Last minute pumpkin activity for your toddler and/or kids.
If you have some time to kill this afternoon before you head out trick-or-treating tonight (I'm guessing there might be a few excited kids out there!), grab a pumpkin and let them go to town painting it.

I got together with a couple of friends a few weeks ago and we let the kids paint pumpkins with washable craft/finger paint. Since they're a bit young, we just let them do whatever.

If your child is a bit older give them some ideas of what they could paint - maybe they could paint the jack-o-lantern face on (instead of carving). Dig out the glitter, stickers, and crafty things. Let them be creative.

And, if you didn't carve a pumpkin/aren't going to have time to carve a pumpkin, this is also a great alternative. Decorate it, and grab some battery operated candles to place all around beside the pumpkin on your front step & you're good to go.

It's also a great rainy day activity for after Halloween to use up those pumpkins you've had as decorations around the house!
